HAVS Protect sensor

Our vibration sensor that measures the vibrations your hands and arms are exposed to. The sensor is connected via Bluetooth to your phone, which in turn sends the vibration data to a cloud service. The cloud service warns you before the vibrations become dangerous.

If you register the person responsible for your work environment, they will receive an email when it is time to do a risk analysis.

Mobile App

Connect your device to a mobile phone which uses algorithms and notifications to send your data to the cloud.

The device cannot work without a mobile device connected. The app is translated in English and Swedish.

Risk Management tool

We’ve established a partnership with Copyl, which boasts a comprehensive Risk Management tool. This platform is where incidents recorded automatically by the device are logged, and it is also the space where the safety manager performs risk assessments.

Included in the cost of the device, both the user and their safety manager receive a one-year license.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Your vibration data is connected to your account, so each user must have their own account.

If you share your data with the Safety Manager, he or she access your data. If you are a member of a team in Copyl, and you let your team access your data, the members of the team can see your vibration points today.

You can move your data to another account, to keep your history. Otherwise, it’s deleted when the current employer deletes your account.

The battery is designed to last through a full 8-hour workday. However, in colder work environments, the battery life may be reduced. The battery is the largest component of the device, chosen to be as compact as possible while still providing a full day’s service to the user.

To reset the device, use a pointed object like a pen to gently press the reset button located in the small hole on the top of your device. Be cautious not to damage the silicone covering, which protects the device from water and dust.

No, the device poses no health risks. It uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), which emits harmless radiation. BLE is considered non-ionizing and is generally not harmful to humans. The BLE is CE and FCC certified.

The silicone used is food-grade quality, and the plastic components are made from carbon-reinforced PLA. PLA is used in various applications, including medical implants and prosthesis.

Additionally, all soldering is lead-free, ensuring the device’s safety for users.

The device follows the same color scale as the app does; the international standard for HAV points.

  • Flashing green = you are safe, under 100 points.
  • Flashing yellow = you have reached 100 points. You should be careful the rest of the day.
  • Flashing orange = you have reached 256 points and the risk has increased.
  • Flashing red = you have reached 400 points and should stop working with power tools.

Your app displays the realtime points, even if the device is disconnected.

No, our unique solution ensures that the device fits equally well on both small and large hands.

The casing is sealed and the electronics are protected, so yes, the device is capable of withstanding water and dust.

To reduce vibrations, consider the following:

  • Change accessories. Sharper blades, drills, discs, etc., are more effective.
  • Newer machines tend to vibrate less.
  • Work in a warm environment when possible. The colder it is, the greater the risk of vibration injuries.
  • Vary the work so that not one person is exposed to vibrating tools for extended periods while others are not.
  • Avoid using impact drivers or similar tools.
  1. Charge your device until the LED is green.
  2. Install the HAVS Protect mobile app.
  3. Register an account in the app.
  4. Login.
  5. Connect your device. Your device is named HAVS-A and an number. You’ll find it in the list of nearby devices.
  6. The startpage in the app shows that the device is connected.

No, your device and app function seamlessly without any subscription.

The data is maintained in Copyl’s Risk Management system, which enables Safety Managers to efficiently manage Incident Reports (a legal requirement), and to implement measures aimed at preventing worker injuries.

Yes, it is possible to wear gloves over the device. However, placing the device on top of your gloves may lead to underestimating the actual vibration exposure, as the device might detect less vibration than what you are truly experiencing.

The device measures vibrations across three axes in the range of 6.3 to 1250 Hz, fully compliant with the ISO 5349 standard. These vibration values are frequency-weighted and subsequently aligned with the HAV point scale.

The device is meticulously sealed and potted with silicone to ensure that water and dust are kept away from the internal electronics. When worn directly on the skin, the device benefits from the warmth of your body. This warmth, especially under gloves, helps maintain an optimal operating temperature for the vibration sensor, ensuring accurate measurements.

No, there is no limit to the number of Incident Reports you can generate. Additionally, you have the flexibility to manually create incident reports for other occurrences in the workplace, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all potential incidents.

Your sensor is connected to your mobile phone. When there’s a change in the color on the scale, you’ll receive a push notification. You can set this up to be read aloud through your headphones, and your phone will also vibrate to alert you.

Yes, you can easily wear gloves over the sensor unit. We have tested the device with hundreds of different gloves. Do not place the sensor on top of the glove, as this may lead to incorrect vibration readings.

Theoretically, the measurements are precise. The sensor covers the entire frequency range required by ISO 5349 (6.3 – 1250 Hz), and we measure time in milliseconds. However, in reality, various factors can affect the measurements. Therefore, you should view the readings as indications rather than exact values.

Several factors can influence the measurements, including:

  • How tightly the sensor fits against your hand.
  • The temperature inside the unit. Colder temperatures may yield poorer readings.
  • The noise level. We analyze the sound around the sensor to identify vibrating tools and ensure it doesn’t register vibrations caused by human movement.
